Dublin City BID

Success of 'Dine In Dublin – Restaurant Week’ 12th to 18th October

A firm favourite in ever foodies diary, October saw the return of ‘Dine In Dublin – Restaurant Week’ which was introduced to our fair city back in April.  Conceived by the Dublin City BID in partnership with the Restaurants Association of Ireland, The Irish Hotels Federation and Dublin Tourism, over 20,000 people ate in participating restaurants with in excess of  €1.25m of revenue being generated for the city.

Over 60 of the city’s top restaurants participated in the second ‘Dine In Dublin – Restaurant Week’ which featured a huge variety of  cuisine allowing diners to experience gastronomic delights from all corners of the globe from China to India; France to Morocco. During the course of the week diners received a special promotional rate of €25 or €30 for a three course meal including tea and coffee which represented a saving of at least 20% below what the menu would cost outside Restaurant Week.

The October instalment of ‘Dine In Dublin – Restaurant Week’ saw the Irish Hotels Federation come onboard for the initiative as several of the city centre hotels offered customers a 10% discount off the lowest quoted accommodation rates. This allowed customers to not only experience the culinary delights of the city centre restaurants but also to treat themselves to an overnight stay in some of the city’s top hotels.

The second edition of ‘Dine In Dublin – Restaurant Week’ was a great success and had positive knock on effects for bar, retail and theatre outlets within the city centre.
