The Dublin City Gift Card is a Pre-paid MasterCard® and is processed through the same procedures as a normal MasterCard® transaction, providing a level of familiarity and assurance to sales associates and consumers alike. There are no additional charges or equipment required to accept the Dublin City Gift Card, and all payments will be processed in the same manner as a standard MasterCard® Transaction. The Dublin City Gift Card should be accepted by any business accepting MasterCard® as a payment method.
The Dublin City Gift Card is approved and supported by MasterCard and is operated by ZAPA Technology in conjunction with the Dublin City Business Association (DCBA) and the Dublin Business Improvement District (BIDs).
The Card is available in values from €10 to €150 (in increments of €5) and there is no surcharge for purchasing the card. Unlike many other gift cards on the market there are no hidden or monthly administration fees on the Dublin City Gift Card. The card is valid for 12 months from the day of purchase. As an added bonus, employee gifts up to €250 are exempt from BIK and are a very tax efficient way for you to reward your staff. There is no surcharge for the card purchase & the Customer can choose a FREE carrier & envelope or choose to purchase the premium 'Gift' offering. The premium wallet available in the Powerscourt Centre, is a premium presentation wallet, containing images and two postcards by famous Irish photographer Giles Norman. There are also two discount vouchers as organised by BIDs; one is for a 20% discount on 10 different restaurants in January, and a 10% discount voucher for the Abbey Theatre for their 2010 production schedule Mon-Fri. The wallet is priced at €4.
The Card purchase does not require any Customer registration
The Card can be loaded with a minimum value of €10 to a maximum value of €150 in €5 increments.
The Card can be used instantly after purchase.
The Card is valid for 12 months from the original purchase date.
The Card can be used anywhere MasterCard is currently accepted & works in the same principal as a normal DEBIT card.
The Card should be treated the same as CASH.
The Card balance can be checked online at www.thisismydublin.com at designated balance check terminals located in the city, and by a mobile text message.
