Since we established Ireland’s first Business Improvement District 18 months ago we have successfully implemented a substantial amount of the programmes outlined in the BID proposal submitted to Dublin City Council in June 2007. Indeed, many initiatives not originally envisaged have also been successfully undertaken.
However, it is clear that the environment in which we operate has changed fundamentally since the BID was first proposed. It is therefore timely to consider our key strategic objectives and to engage with the city’s business community in developing a new strategic plan to enhance Dublin’s competitive advantage and restore our market share to where it should be. This will not happen without a concerted and united action plan which has the support of the business community.
