Dublin City BID takes its Corporate Social Responsibilities seriously. We want to work with the less fortunate in our society to make Dublin city a better place for all. This year we are supporting two major community activities.

Ana Liffey Drug Project Partnership
The ALDP provides a ‘Low Threshold - Harm Reduction’ service to individuals experiencing problem substance use and their families. Its outreach centre on Middle Abbey Street creates a welcoming space where active drug users can look at their lives and their options for positive change in a non-judgmental environment. This is vital work, dealing with the devastating impact of drug use on our community and society. The Dublin City BID has assisted them to purchase a van to support its outreach activities and will build on this to the benefit of all who use the city centre.
Oxfam Rankin Exhibition
Cheka Kidogo (Swahili for ‘laugh a little’), a photographic exhibition by fashion photographer Rankin is in Wolfe Tone Park (beside the Jervis Centre) and O’Connell St until Friday 31st July 2009. Rankin traveled with Oxfam to a refugee camp in Eastern Congo and the images he took paint a fascinating portrait of life for the survivors of the ongoing conflict in the Congo. We are supporting this important cultural and artistic initiative in the BID area.
